Helping an Ortley Beach Family Back Into Their Home

 

This home in Ortley Beach had all of the dirt and sand from below its foundation, as well as their entire front and back yards washed away during Hurricane Sandy. The force of the storm was so great that more than 6 feet of earth was swept away, leaving the home an actual island surrounded by dirty flood waters. This home had been sitting like this for three months, with 2 feet of pilings visible, a moat filled with water and debris, and the homeowners unable to easily access their belongings.

Joe Wehner & Sons Contracting, LLC was lucky enough to be selected by the homeowner to help return them back to their home – and were happy to be a part of this momentous occasion.  The first step in the process was to remove the mountain of debris in the front and around the home. Next, Joe and his crew had to bring in more than 20 loads of sand which his machines worked diligently to relocate under the structure, as well as all around it.
